In a bid to boost increase the footprint in Northeast, Bharatiya Janata Party prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Saturday alleged that policies of UPA government have not allowed the region to prosper. “Because of lack of attention, governance, the Northeast region has fallen into the hands of divisive forces,” he said at a rally in Manipur capital Imphal.
The Gujarat strongman attacked the Congress saying that the latter felt the only solution to insurgency was fake encounters. “The Congress does not know that such steps will further vitiate the atmosphere,” he said.
